Can I switch to QuickBooks Pro + Payroll, or Premier + Payroll in the middle of the year?
Yes, you can. If you are starting up mid-year, just enter the year-to-date balances when you start using Payroll. QuickBooks can then create payroll payments, calculate payroll liabilities and process payroll forms.
How does pricing work for QuickBooks Payroll? How do I pay for it?
QuickBooks Payroll is available on what's referred to as a "subscription" plan. This way of paying breaks up one lump payment into manageable, bite-sized monthly payments - and that can help a lot when it comes to managing your business's cashflow. (Why pay at once when you can spread the payments out and keep more money in your account longer?)
Plus, with your subscription to Payroll, you get more than just convenient payments:
- Pro or Premier Included: Your monthly fee includes both QuickBooks Payroll and Pro or Premier 2012
- Automatic Product Updates: Every time we release a new version of QuickBooks, you get it (which means no more upgrading!)
- Direct Debit: No credit cart required! We can withdraw your payments straight from your bank account
As your business grows and your needs change, you can add more Payroll users or upgrade from Pro to Premier or even Enterprise 12.0.
Can I add 3 or 5 users?
You can get Payroll for 1, 3 or 5 users, please call 1-888-829-8589 to order Payroll for 3 or 5 users. (You cannot currently order multi-user Payroll online.)
How do I set up QuickBooks for the first time?
QuickBooks Payroll is designed to be easy to use - from setup all the way through to remitting payments. Just follow this simple process to get started:
- Start your subscription by purchasing a Payroll bundle today (Pro + Payroll, or Premier + Payroll)... or, if you already have QuickBooks 2012, call us at 1-888-829-8589 to add Payroll.
- Get the right info! Download the latest tax tables and legislative updates to ensure you're applying taxes right, etc.
- Enter details about your payroll needs - such as types of wages you're paying & your company benefits (if any) and deductions for any employees... even if that employee is only you!
Starting up mid-year? Remember to provide year-to-date balances so that QuickBooks can create payroll payments, calculate payroll liabilities and process payroll forms. If you don't know your balance numbers, refer to your accountant/book-keeper or your current payroll service. How do I get government payroll updates?
You can download Payroll updates directly from QuickBooks using the Automatic Update feature in the software. You can also download and install Payroll updates manually.
Payroll updates are released in June (for July 1 tax table changes) and December (for January 1 tax table changes). So be sure to get updates in those 2 months.
