How to Effectively Use Customer Testimonials in Your Marketing

Customer testimonials are extremely effective marketing tools because they build trust with your prospects, are not “salesy,” and help prospects overcome potential skepticism. They can show prospects potential benefits of your product, substantiate any claims you make about a product, and help to build overall credibility.

Obtaining testimonials is often easier than expected. There are many ways to accomplish the goal of getting a testimonial, such as:

  1. Include a rating/testimonial form with the product that can be mailed back to you.
  2. Follow up with customers with an email asking for a testimonial.
  3. Include a link on your web page that directs customers to an area to provide feedback.

You can also incentivize customers to provide a testimonial by offering a large discount or some other gift.
