Snail mail is mail sent to recipients through the post office. Believe it or not, people still open their snail mail. If you own a small businesses, you might consider sending direct mail marketing materials through the postal service, but the efficacy of your marketing campaign depends on type of mail you send. Typically, people are more likely to open direct mail marketing pieces that look like personal correspondence, such as a hand-addressed, thick envelope does. They’re also eager to open mail that promises to satisfy a curiosity or solve a problem. For example, if you’re a real estate broker, you might send a colourful postcard to people in a certain neighbourhood announcing a new listing or sale. People interested in current listing prices or selling their homes are likely to take the time to review it.
