Marketing Yourself as a Niche Expert With Your Own Book

When people want to learn about something, they buy or borrow a book on the subject. Writing a book is a great way to get known as an expert and get more business. If you’re not a good writer or don’t have the time or patience to write a book, you can write a good outline and have a professional ghostwriter flesh out the rest. Publishing a book is as good as it gets as far as branding strategies go. Your book should offer solutions to problems people in your target market have. If you’re an independent accountant, for example, you could write a book about money-saving tax tips for Canadian startups. Along with useful tips, your e-book should also have an eye-catching cover. You’ll also need to include a well-written bio in the book; take a nice-quality head shot for the back cover, since your face is part of your brand. Here’s the best part about writing a book for promotional purposes: Everybody loves a freebie, so it’s better to give way the book than try to sell it. You’ll earn back the cost of publishing the book with the business you get from it. So, instead of handing out business cards at conferences and trade shows, consider handing out copies your books. People lose business cards all the time, but they usually hold onto books. Publish a book to establish yourself as an expert, and you could reap the financial benefits for years to come.
